- •Stunning HDR quality with 1000 nits brightness delivers sharp, vibrant, and hyper-realistic picture quality, especially impressive for sports and dark scenes thanks to Mini-LED full-array local dimming.
- •Native 144Hz refresh rate paired with VRR and FreeSync support makes this TV a gamer’s dream, performing very well with PS5 and PS5 Pro for smooth and crisp gameplay.
- •Dolby Vision IQ and Dolby Atmos support provide an immersive audio-visual experience, with built-in subwoofer-enhanced bass surpassing many TVs’ sound quality, reducing the need for a separate soundbar.
- •Fire TV OS is user-friendly and functions like a built-in Fire Stick with support for sideloading third-party apps, offering convenient streaming options.
- •Setup is quick and straightforward, including WiFi and streaming service sign-ins, usually completed within 15 minutes.
- •The TV’s stock speakers are surprisingly loud and clear, with solid bass performance.
- •Customizable display settings and Filmmaker Mode improve viewing experience by providing authentic picture quality when default AI enhancements are switched off.
- •Warranty coverage is solid with a 2-year offer, which is a decent reassurance for a 65-inch Mini-LED TV.
- •The physical design is solid with a thin but heavy build that feels stable and premium.
- •Overall, a great value for advanced features that are often reserved for more expensive models.
Cons
- •The default AI enhancements, motion smoothing, and color settings are generally disliked and require manual disabling to avoid poor picture quality.
- •The Fire TV user interface tends to be cluttered with ads and aggressive sign-up prompts, which frustrate users and detract from the viewing experience.
- •Disconnecting from the internet or using third-party streaming sources is sometimes necessary to avoid bloatware and improve UI smoothness.
- •The remote lacks dedicated buttons for popular streaming services like Hulu and HBO Max, which may annoy users accustomed to quick access.
- •The TV’s stock stand legs are wide and cumbersome, not ideal for small or tight spaces, often necessitating a separate mount for better stability.
- •Although it offers excellent gaming features, the number of HDMI ports supporting 144 Hz at 4K is limited to two, which might frustrate users with multiple high-refresh-rate devices.
- •A longer warranty would be nice considering the size and sophisticated tech of the TV.
- •Some users find the overall Fire TV OS experience less polished compared to competitor platforms like Google TV.
- •The TV is heavy, which might make setup and positioning challenging for some.
Bottom Line
The Hisense 65" U6 Series Mini-LED Smart Fire TV is an outstanding choice if you're a sports fan or gamer craving vivid HDR, superb contrast from Mini-LED local dimming, and a silky smooth 144Hz gaming experience—all wrapped in immersive Dolby Vision IQ and Atmos sound. Just be ready to tweak default picture settings and wrestle a bit with the Fire TV ads and interface bloat. If a cleaner streaming experience or more HDMI 144Hz ports are a dealbreaker, you might want to explore other high-end brands, but for the price and features, this TV is a powerhouse worth serious consideration.
